Vorschrift

1,2-Diaminobenzene (4.65 g), 4-[3-(1-pyrrolidinyl)propoxy]benzaldehyde (Step B) (10.0 g) and sodium bisulfite (4.60 g) are stirred at reflux in methanol (300 mL) for 14 hours. The mixture is filtered and evaporated. The residue is recrystallized from hot ethyl acetate/ethanol to give 4.68 g of the title compound as a yellow solid.
