Vorschrift

A solution of 2,5-dimethoxyaniline (1.07 g, 7.00 mmol) and ethyl ∀-formyl-4-methoxyphenylacetate (1.71 g, 1.1 eq) in toluene (15 ml) is refluxed for 18 hours. After cooling, the reaction mixture is diluted with toluene (15 ml) and then acidified with 10% HCl. After extraction, the organic phase obtained is dried over MgSO4 and then evaporated under reduced pressure. The isolated residue is crystallized from methanol and then filtered on a sinter funnel to give 1.30 g (52%) of compound 28.
