Vorschrift

To a solution of 7-fluoro-benzo[1,3]dioxole-5-carbaldehyde (0.80 g, 4.7 mmol) in MeOH (50 mL) was added NaBH4 (0.36 g, 9.4 mmol) in portions at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at this temperature for 30 mm and was then concentrated to dryness. The residue was dissolved in EtOAc. The EtOAc layer was washed with water, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to dryness to afford (7-fluoro-benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl)-methanol (0.80 g, 98%), which was directly used in the next step.
