Vorschrift

A solution of 3.18 g. of 3-(2',4'-difluoro-4-biphenylyl)-3-hydroxybutyric acid in 30 ml. of acetic acid is hydrogenated, at 20° and under normal pressure, on 0.2 g. of 10% Pd/C in the presence of 0.01 ml. of HClO4. The mixture is filtered and the filtrate is diluted with water to give 3-(2',4'-difluoro-4-biphenylyl)butyric acid, m.p. 109°-110°.
