Vorschrift

In the same manner as in Example 5, there are electrolyzed 13.5 g of 1-(3'-trifluoromethylbenzoyl)-piperidine and 84.1 g of methanol in the presence of 0.11 g of tetramethylammonium tetrafluoroborate as conducting salt. After throughput of 2.5 Faraday per mol of 1-(3'-trifluoromethylbenzoyl)-piperidine the current is switched off. The calculated mean cell voltage is 34.1 volts. Work-up of the electrolysis solution gives 13.3 g of 1-(3'-trifluoromethylbenzoyl)-2-methoxypiperidine (boiling point 75°-80° C./0.2 mm Hg; nD25 =1.4905) are obtained which corresponds to a product yield of 88.2% and a current efficiency of 70.6%.
