Vorschrift

32 g (0.17 mol) of 3-trifluoromethoxy-benzaldehyde, 32 ml of nitro-ethane and 2 ml of n-butylamine are introduced into a 100 ml flask surmounted by a condenser. The mixture is heated for 20 hours at the reflux temperature and then rectified. 29 g (70% yield) of 1-(3'-trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-2-nitro-1-propene are collected as a yellow oil b.p. 90°-110° C./2mm. Hg.
