Vorschrift

To a solution of methyl 1-benzyl-5-hydroxy-2-isopropyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylate (Compound 32, 560 mg, 1.73 mmol) in DMF (6.0 ml) was added methyl iodide (0.32 ml, 5.20 mmol) and K2CO3 (718 mg, 5.20 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h, diluted with EtOAc, washed with H2O, brine, dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel eluting with 0-20% EtOAc-hexanes to yield methyl 1-benzyl-2-isopropyl-5-methoxy-1H-indole-3-carboxylate (Compound 33) as a yellow solid.
