Vorschrift

To 3-formyl-4-methoxy-5-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid (2.05 g), toluene (20 mL), N,N-dimethylformamide (2 droplets) and thionyl chloride (0.70 mL) were added, and then the mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 6.5 hours. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure and then azeotroped with toluene to obtain the title compound (2.42 g) as a brown oily substance.
