Vorschrift

The isatin product was refluxed in 110 mL of 10% KOH solution in water over night. The dark green mixture was cooled and acidified with 400 mL of 1:1 ice/5M HCl. The solid was washed with water and air-dried yielding the acridine acid. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 7.81-7.94 (m, 4H), 8.31-8.36 (m, 2H).
