Vorschrift

Reaction of trans-8-hydroxymethyl-7-methoxy-4-propyl-1,2,3,4a,5,10b-hexahydro-4H-[1]-benzopyrano[3,4-b]pyridine with diphenylphosphine and butyllithium according to the procedure of Example 9 and subsequent treatment with fumaric acid affords trans-7-hydroxy-8-hydroxymethyl-4-propyl-1,2,3,4a,5,10b-hexahydro-4H-[1]-benzopyrano[3,4-b]pyridine fumarate, m.p. 198°-200°.
