Vorschrift

To a solution of [(3S)-6-({4′-[2-(ethylthio)ethoxy]-2′,6′-dimethylbiphenyl-3-yl}methoxy)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-3-yl]acetic acid (0.304 g, 0.617 mmol) in methanol (10 mL) was added dropwise a solution of potassium peroxysulfate (trade name: OXONE, 0.569 g, 0.926 mmol) in water (5 mL) under ice-cooling, and the mixture was stirred for 12 hr, during which the mixture was allowed to gradually warm to room temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with water, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC, and the obtained crystals were recrystallized from heptane-ethyl acetate to give the title compound (0.237 g, yield 73%) as colorless crystals.
