Vorschrift

To a solution of the product of step (a) (849 mg) in methanol (15 ml) was added 2N sodium hydroxide (6.8 ml) and the resulting mixture was stirred for 3 hours. The mixture was evaporated to dryness. The resulting gum was dissolved in water (7 ml) and acidified with acetic acid. The mixture was filtered to give 4-(4-(4-pyridyl)piperazin-1-ylmethyl)benzoic acid (429 mg);
