Using General Procedure B: Reaction of (4-amino-butyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester and 2-acetyl thiazole in MeOH with NaBH4 gave [4-(1-thiazol-2-yl-ethylamino)-butyl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester as a colorless oil. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 1.44 (s, 9H), 1.50-1.57 (m, 4H), 1.66 (d, 3H, J=6.5 Hz), 2.58-2.69 (m, 2H), 3.08-3.14 (m, 2H), 4.15 (q, 1H, J=6.7 Hz), 7.24 (d, 1H, J=3.3 Hz), 7.70 (d, 1H, J=3.3 Hz).
