Vorschrift

A solution of 15.18 g (67.2 mmol) of 6-bromoisatin and 7.26 g (1.0 eq.) of 1,2-phenylenediamine in 250 ml of butyric acid was refluxed for 4 hours, followed by allowing to stand at room temperature for 16 hours. The precipitate was collected by filtration to give 8-bromoindolo[2,3-b]quinoxaline.
