Vorschrift

15.7 g (0.1 mol) of N,N-diethyl-3-oxobutyramide were mixed with 12 g (0.14 mol) of CH3COONa, 20 ml of water and 75 ml of ethanol. The solution obtained was cooled to 10° C. and 0.1 mol of freshly prepared solution of phenyldiazonium chloride [Organic Reactions, R. Adams Ed; Wiley, New York, 10, 32-33, (1951-1959)] were added dropwise. The precipitated solid was filtered, dried in vacuo yielding 22.6 g of the title compound. M.p.=63°-65° C.
