Starting from 2-[3-bromo-5-(4-methoxy-2-methylphenyl)-4-methylthien-2-yl]-1,3-dioxolane (0.96 g, 2.6 mmol, made in Example 11, Step 1) and substituting 3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid (0.57 g, 3.4 mmol) in place of 3-methoxyphenylboronic acid (Step 2), the title compound (0.40 g, 67%) was synthesized in essentially the same manner as described in Example 1, Steps 2-4.
