A mixture of 5-bromo-4′-methyl-N-((2-methylpyrimidin-5-yl)methyl)biphenyl-3-carboxamide (100 mg, 0.0002 mol), 2-(tributylstannyl)pyrimidine (0.1 g, 0.0003 mol), tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (6 mg, 0.000005 mol) and toluene (1 mL, 0.009 mol) was heated in the microwave at 120° C. for 1 hour. LC/MS showed the desired product, LC/MS m/e=396.3. The mixture was cooled to room temperature and the reaction mixture filtered over celite and solvent removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by reverse phase prep HPLC to get the product as white solid.
