tert-butyl 4-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (1.33 g, 5.2 mmol) and N-(3-formyl-4-pyridinyl-2,2-dimethylpropanamide (1.0 g, 4.7 mmol) were reacted in a manner analogous to the preparation of tert-butyl 4-(1-hydroxy-3-methoxy-3-oxo-1-(2-pivalamidopyridin-3-yl)propan-2-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate. Title compound was obtained as white foam in 54% yield. (M+H)+=464.2.
