Vorschrift

2,3-Dicyano-5-chloropyrazine (0.83 g; 0.005 mole) was dissolved in 25 ml of acetone. The solution was cooled to 0° to 3° C., and with stirring, a solution prepared from 0.55 g (0.005 mole) of thiophenol, 0.21 g (0.005 mole) of sodium hydroxide, 1 ml of water, and 20 ml of acetone was added dropwise over the period of 10 minutes. Then, the reaction mixture was worked up in the same way as in Example 7, and recrystallized from benzene to afford 0.57 g (yield 48%) of 2,3-dicyano-5-(phenylthio)pyrazine.
