5-(5-Ethyl-2-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridin-3-yl)thiophene-2-sulfonyl chloride is reacted with 4-hydroxypiperidine as described in Step 5, Example 24 to give the title compound as a solid (63.6% yield). LC/MS: RT 2.48 min; m/e 383 (M+H); 1H NMR (δ, ppm): 11.8 (1H, s), 7.6 (1H, d); 7.4 (1H, s); 7.3 (1H, d), 3.6 (1H, s), 3.2 (2H, m), 2.8 (2H, m), 2.4 (2H, q), 2.36 (3H, s), 1.8 (2H, m), 1.5 (2H, m), 1.05 (3H, t).
