Vorschrift

A mixture of 6-amino-8-methyl-2-(1H)-quinolone (0.485 g) and 1,2-diformylhydrazine (0.245 g) was stirred and heated in a melt at 200° for 1 hour. The residue was then triturated with hot isopropanol, cooled and filtered and the solid residue was recrystallised from chloroform-isopropanol to afford 6-(1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)-8-methyl-2-(1H)-quinolone 0.25 H2O, m.p. 369°-371° (0.112 g).
