Vorschrift

Step A A mixture of 2,2-dimethyl-propane-1,3-diol (Aldrich) (10 g, 96 mmol) and imidazole (9.8 g, 140 mmol) in dichloromethane (200 mL) was added tert-butyldimethylchlorosilane (15.9 g, 10.6 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 h. Water was added. The organic layer was separated, the aqueous layer was then extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, concentrated to give 3-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-2,2-dimethyl-propan-1-ol as a colorless oil (20.4 g, 97%).
