In a similar manner, ethyl 3-(3,4-difluorobenzoyl)-1,1-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydroazepino[4,5-b]indole-5-carboxylate was saponified, converted to the corresponding cyclobutylamide using CDI and cyclobutylamine, and then oxidized as described previously in Example 63 to give cyclobutyl 3-(3,4-difluorobenzoyl)-1,1-dimethyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydroazepino[4,5-b]indole-5-carboxamide; MS(ESI): 450 (MH+).
