Prepared in a similar manner to example 1 using 5-(4,5-dimethylfuran-2-yl)-2H-1,2,4-triazole-3(4H)-thione (example 5a) and 2-(2-bromoethyl)pyridinium bromide (example 8a). Yield 55%. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): δ 1.96 (s, 3H), 2.24 (s, 3H), 3.28 (t, 2H), 3.49 (t, 2H), 6.77 (s, 1H), 7.13-7.23 (m, 2H), 7.65 (t, 1H) 8.58 (s, 1H). MS (M+H, 301).
