To a sealed tube was added 9 (5 mg, 0.014 mmol), indole-4-boronic acid (5.8 mg, 0.036 mmol), dichloro-bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (II) (2.0mg, 0.0029 mmol) and Na2CO3 (3.1 mg, 0.029 mmol) followed by dioxane (2 mL) and water (0.8 mL) under Ar(g). The lid was sealed and the tube was heated to 88° C. for 18 h whereupon it was cooled to rt and diluted with EtOAc (35 mL) and 50% saturated brine (5 mL). The organic layer was separated and the aqueous layer extracted with EtOAc (2×10 mL). The combined organic layers were then dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo. Purification by flash column chromatography on silica (eluant 2-5% MeOH/CH2Cl2) furnished H (2 mg, 0.005 mmol, 32%) as an off-white solid.
