Vorschrift

A solution of 3-(2-(tetrahydropyran-2-yloxy)ethoxy)pyridine (1.54 g, 7 mmol) in acetic acid (8 ml), THF (4 ml) and water (2 ml) was heated at 50° C. for 4 hours. The volatiles were removed by evaporation and the residue azeotroped with toluene to give 3-(2-hydroxyethoxy)pyridine (820 mg, 86%) as an off-white solid. 1H NMR Spectrum: (DMSOd6) 3.70(t, 2H); 4.05(t, 2H); 4.85(s, 1H); 7.25(dd, 1H); 7.37(dd, 1H); 8.10(d, 1H); 8.24(d, 1H) MS-ESI: 140 [MH]+
