In the same apparatus and procedure as Example 1 above, 0.063 g (0.62 mmol) of triethylamine, 1.0g (6.2 mmol) of (chloromethyl)methyldichlorosilane, and 4.18 g (30.9 mmol) of trichlorosilane were reacted at 200° C. for 24 hrs. The resulting mixture was distilled to give 0.50 g of 1,1,1,3,3-pentachloro-1,3-disilabutane (yield; 31%).
