Following a procedure similar to that for the preparation of 16a, intermediate 3a (50 mg, 0.117 mmol) and alpha-toluene sulfonyl chloride (26.7 mg, 0.14 mmol) yielded 35.6 mg (44%) of 36a. MS (ESI) 581.1 (M+H+).
