Vorschrift

4—Chloro-2-(4-fluorophenyl)quinazoline: 4-hydroxy-2-(4-fluorophenyl) quinazoline, from paragraph B, 1 equivalent, was suspended in chloroform and treated with 12 equivalents of thionyl chloride in the presence of a catalytic amount of dimethyl formamide, under reflux for 4 hours. After removal of the solvents under reduced pressure a solid was obtained that was analyzed by TLC. EIMS confirmed the desired product.
