Compound 832 prepared in step A above (0.63 g, 1.56 mmol) was treated with TFA/DCM (7.5 mL/7.5 mL) at room temperature for 2 hr, and the volatiles were removed in vacuum. The residue was treated with saturated NaHCO3 and the precipitate was collected via filtration and washed thoroughly with water, dried in air to provide 6-amino-2-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-1-ethyl-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile (0.45 g, 96%), compound 833.
