The title compound was prepared by the same method used for 1-benzyl-4-(6-methoxy-2-methylquinolin-8-yl)piperazine, except substituting 8-amino-6-methoxy-3-methylquinoline (2.82 g, 15.0 mmol) for the 8-amino-6-methoxy-2-methyl-quinoline. Flash chromatography on 6×20 cm SiO2 (25-30% EtOAc/hexane), with rechromatography of the mixed fractions, provided 1.13 g (22%) of the title compound as a yellow gum. Crystallization from hexane afforded 0.88 g of analytically pure compound as yellow crystals: mp 112-113° C.
