الإجراء التجريبي

Under a nitrogen atmosphere, 7.4 g of lithium aluminium hydride are added to 100 ml of diethyl ether and then 15 g of the compound prepared in Stage F, dissolved in 300 ml of diethyl ether, are added dropwise thereto. When the addition is complete, the mixture is refluxed for 3 hours. The excess hydride is hydrolysed, the mixture is filtered, the residue is washed several times with diethyl ether and the filtrate and washings are concentrated. The alcohol is obtained in the form of an oil.
