الإجراء التجريبي

To acetic acid (2 mL) was added urea (0.6 g, 10 mmol) and 2-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-2-hydroxy-1-phenylethanone (2.6 g, 10 mmol). After stirring for 2 hours at 120° C., the reaction was cooled to ambient temperature. The resulting solid was filtered, washed with ether, and dried in vacuo to give 4-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-2,3dihydro-5-phenyl-1H-imidazol-2-one; NMR (CDCl3) 10.98 (s,2), 7.5 (m,4), 7.4 (m,5), 3.18 (s,6) ppm.
