الإجراء التجريبي

47 g (0.3 mol) of 3-hydroxy-2,6-bis(hydroxymethyl)pyridine are dissolved in 800 ml of acetonitrile. 104 g of K2CO3 (0.753 mol) and 55 ml of benzyl bromide (0.45 mol) are added. The combined mixture is brought to reflux for 12 h. After having filtered off the insoluble material, the solution is concentrated and the residue is hardened in isopropyl ether. w=39 g.
