الإجراء التجريبي

Into a 100-mL round-bottom flask purged and maintained with an inert atmosphere of nitrogen, was placed 3-chloro-5-(2-fluoro-4-methylphenyl)-1,2-thiazole-4-carbonitrile (500 mg, 1.98 mmol, 1.00 equiv), 1,4-dioxane (20 mL), Al(CH3)3 (6 mL), Pd(PPh3)4 (343 mg, 0.30 mmol, 0.15 equiv). The resulting solution was stirred for 3 h at 110° C. The reaction was then quenched by the addition of 2 mL of water. The resulting mixture was concentrated under vacuum. The residue was applied onto a silica gel column with ethyl acetate/petroleum ether (1:5). This resulted in 200 mg (44%) of 5-(2-fluoro-4-methylphenyl)-3-methyl-1,2-thiazole-4-carbonitrile as a yellow solid.
