The product of example 3 part b) (0.6 g,) was dissolved in DMF (5 ml). 2-Hydroxymethyl-benzimidazole (0.28 g,) and anhydrous potassium carbonate (0.6 g) were added to the solution, which was stirred for 16 h. The sub-title compound was obtained as a white solid after filtration of the reaction mixture and evaporation (0.18 g). MS (APCI) 457 [M+H]+. δ 1HCDCl3 0.87 (3H,s), 0.9 (3H,s), 2.1-2.2 (m, 1H), 3.38 (s,3H), 3.57-3.64 (m,3H), 3.96 (s,3H), 4.97 (s,2H), 5.64 (s,2H), 7.26-7.38 (m,2H), 7.22-7.3 (m,1H) and 7.74-7.8 (m,1H).
