6-(3,4-Methylenedioxyphenyl)-3-hexenyl iodide [VI; Ar is 3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl, R is H] was prepared from 12.9 g. of 6-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-3-hexenyl bromide (Preparation C2) and 7 g. of sodium iodide in 120 ml. of acetone, refluxed for three hours, affording 12.5 g. of product as an oil.
