This compound was prepared according to the procedure described in Example 50 using [S-(R*,R*)]-2-[2-[2-(1-tert-butoxycarbonyl-3-methyl-butyl carbamoyl) -5-methoxy-phenyldisulfanyl]-4-methoxy-benzoylamino]-4-methyl-pentanoic acid tert-butyl ester (1.2 g, 17.0 mmol) from Example 30, 10 mL dichloromethane, 10 mL trifluoroacetic acid, and 1 mL anisole. The crude product was recrystallized from methanol/water to afford 0.8 g of the title compound, mp 230°-231° C.
